Lawrence L. Garcia

Lawrence (Larry) Garcia began his law career at the University of Houston, Bates College of Law, where he participated in national competitions with the Moot Court team and was inducted into the National Order of Barristers. He received his J.D. in 1979. The following year, Larry established a legal practice in San Antonio and quickly earned the reputation as a tough litigator and fierce advocate for his clients' rights. He is certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Family Law (1988) and has served as past president of the San Antonio Family Lawyer's Association. But, in light of Larry's numerous professional achievements and hard-hitting court tactics, he remains a man of compassion and faith. Some of his greatest joys in life come from spending time with his family and serving as an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He recently retired after serving 16 years as Senior Minister at Hill Country Christian Church in Spring Branch, Texas. He is a veteran of the United States Army.

He has been Board Certified as a Family Law Specialist since 1988. He is a past President and past Director of the San Antonio Family Lawyers Association. He is a member of the Texas Association of Family Law Specialists and the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. He has long represented the American Federation of Teachers and the San Antonio Alliance of Teachers. He is a past President and Director of Kidshare, Inc and Wildlife Rescue and Rehabiliation, Inc., and has served on the Board of Directors of Inman Christian Center. He is married to Linda C. Garcia, has two children and two grandchildren. He has successfully represented numerous clients with multi-million dollar estates, large real estate holdings and complicated situations. He is experienced in division of all types of retirement programs, including military retirement. He has handled literally hundreds of contested custody cases, including many jury trials. He has both defended and prosecuted cases of family violence and abuse, and is authorized to represent children as an ad litem or amicus in the Bexar County courts.
